A stroll through the Christmas market is simply part and parcel of the most wonderful time of the year. Warming mulled wine, the scent of gingerbread and lovingly decorated craft stalls make it a magical place to visit. Our DJH City Hostels in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Duisburg and Bonn offer the ideal base for your stay. From the DJH City Hostel Düsseldorf A Christmas-themed stroll through the festively decorated city centre beckons. The atmospherically lit stalls stretch across squares and streets right up to the impressive backdrop of the town hall on the market square, where a carousel that is almost 100 years old awaits.
Also in Cologne From our three DJH City hostels, you’ll be right in the thick of things. The traditional Christmas market in front of the cathedral is just as easy to reach as the harbour and boat Christmas market – Europe’s largest floating Christmas market. With over 45 stalls and a magnificent view of Cologne’s old town, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Finally, a wide and varied range of culinary delights awaits you at the Christmas market in Bonn. As well as regional specialities, the restaurant also offers a range of international delicacies, including Hungarian specialities, for you to enjoy.
What’s more, the Rhineland boasts a wealth of extraordinary Christmas markets. For example, the Advent market in the imperial city Aachen With over 100 traders, craftspeople and catering establishments, it is one of the three largest markets in Germany. A particular highlight is the famous Aachen Printen.
